旅悅的理念

       旅悅的創辦人 Jeff，台灣科技大學管理碩士，曾任職於股票上市公司經營企劃部門，也曾擔任多所科技大學專兼任教師，101年看到中原大學學生拍攝「為什麼外國背包客不來台灣?」影像專題，有感於深度旅遊對台灣庶民經濟的重要，於是在50歲這年勇敢投入青旅，與擔任鋼琴教師的妻子Melody同心打造一間能夠吸引國際背包客，向世界傳送「台灣的美好」的青年旅館，希望為推廣在地文化盡一份心力。

       此外，Jeff更以「旅人築夢之旅的最佳歇宿空間」作為旅悅的努力方向，提供背包客們時尚、超值、安全、乾淨、便利的住宿環境，因此旅悅不僅是Jeff和Melody的夢想，更要和全世界的朋友一起追逐夢想、分享夢想。除了夢想，Jeff的三個孩子也是促成旅悅的一大因素。從旅悅誕生之初，三個孩子就參與其中，正式營運後，更經常在旅悅大廳看到他們擔任小小接待員的可愛身影，並和世界各國的旅客打成一片。Jeff頗有感觸地說，旅悅，不僅是他事業的第二春，更是孩子們生活體驗的重要部分，能讓孩子們在這獨特的成長環境中，自然而然地培養國際觀，結識來自全世界的朋友，是他由衷的心願。 

旅悅的誕生

       2014年7月，旅悅正式誕生與世界見面。

       為了打造夢想之地，Jeff 和 Melody毅然將原有的溫馨住處奉獻出來，作為旅悅駐足之所在。為了強調旅悅「簡單、時尚」的基調，內部裝潢更是全部由Jeff 和 Melody親自規劃設計：寬闊的交誼廳、迎接各國來賓的小國旗、房間內自已設計色調活潑的床架、位處高雄地王區卻還提供加大尺寸床位讓旅人舒適的睡眠空間，甚至浴廁內讓人驚艷的高級磁磚及花灑等，都是 Jeff 和 Melody 對旅人們的誠摯歡迎。  

       關於D’well，旅悅的英文名稱— D’well之名其中隱藏了兩個層面的意義。第一，Dwell一詞，在英文中有居住、住所的意思，正如同旅悅想成為世界旅人來築夢、追夢的家園的理念；第二，D’well 是 Dream well 的意思，希望來到這裡的朋友們，都能勇敢追夢，讓美夢成真。除此之外，D’well 的企業識別設計(CIS)則是和朝陽科技大學視覺傳達設計系產學合作，讓學生有機會參與企業發展CIS的規劃設計實務，也讓年輕人釋放活潑的創意來營造旅悅的嶄新生命。

#為什麼外國背包客不來台灣?

D’well, always taking a step forward to offer the best accommodation for tourists who are on their journey of dream pursuit

The core value of D’well 

      Jeff, the founder of D’well, received his MIM degree from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He used to work at the business planning department of a listed company, and also worked as an adjunct and full-time instructor at various universities of science and technology. In 2012, he saw a photography and filming project: “Why foreign backpackers seldom come to Taiwan?” conducted by students from Chung Yuan Christian University. Inspired by the project, he felt that in-depth tours were very important to boosting Taiwan’s economy, but had been rather neglected, so he bravely quit his job at the age of 50 and decided to run a hostel of his own with his wife, Melody, who was a piano teacher back then. They hoped that their hostel could attract international backpackers to Taiwan and in turn promote the beauty of Taiwan to the world. This is also their determination to share in promoting the local culture.

Moreover, Jeff’s goal is for D’well to become “the best accommodation for tourists who are on their journey of dream pursuit.” Keeping this in mind, he turned D’well into a fashionable, safe, clean and convenient space for backpackers. D’well is not only the dream of Jeff and Melody, but also their aspiration to pursue and share dreams with tourists from all over the world.

Apart from dreams, Jeff’s three children are credited with the birth of D’well; they joined their parents in the preparation work for the opening of the hostel. After the official opening, visitors can now often see these adorable children serving as receptionists in the lobby and interacting well with guests from across the world. Jeff once said in a tone of mingled emotions that D’well is not only his second career, but also a very important part of his children’s life experience. He hopes, from the bottom of his heart, that his children will naturally be fostered with a global vision and make friends from all over the world while growing up in this unique environment.

The birth of D’well

In January 2014, D’well officially opened and reached out its arms to the world. 

To build this dream hostel, unlike other hostel owners, Jeff and Melody used the place of their sweet home as the site of D’well. In order to highlight the tone of “Minimalism & Fashion,” the interior design was all planned by Jeff and Melody, be it the spacious lounge, miniature national flags to welcome guests from various countries, or the self-designed, bright-colored bedsteads. What’s more, although D’well is located in downtown Kaohsiung with the highest land price of the city, it provides king size beds for guests to have a sound sleep. The attentiveness is also manifested in the bathrooms where the high quality tiles and shower are simply awesome. All these represent the warmest welcome from Jeff and Melody. 

The hostel’s name “D’well” has two meanings. On the one hand, D’well is derived from the word “dwell”, which means “to live” in English, signifying that D’well is a homelike place that inspires the world’s tourists to find and realize their dreams. On the other hand, D’well can be interpreted as “Dream well,” delivering a good wish that all the guests who visit here can be brave on their journey of dreams and ultimately enjoy the fruit of success. Besides, the CIS of D’well was a result of industry-academia cooperation with the Department of Visual Communication Design, Chaoyang University of Technology. This cooperation not only provided an opportunity for the students to design CIS, but also allowed their amazing creativity to breathe new life into the operation of D’well.

D’well is more than a brand; it stands for our core value and goal in running a hostel. 

旅悦　「夢を追う旅人が心から寛げる最高のゲストハウス」を目指して

「旅悦」の理念

「旅悦」のオーナーJeffは台湾科技大学管理学部の修士で、以前は上場企業で経営企画に携わり、また数校の科技大学で兼任講師を務めていました。2012年、中原大学の学生が撮影した映像「なぜ外国人バッグパッカーは台湾に来ないのか」を見て、地域密着型観光が台湾の市民経済に与える影響について考えるようになり、50歳の時このゲストハウスを開業しました。そして「台湾の素晴らしさ」を世界に伝えるべく、ピアノ教師の妻Melodyとともに外国人バッグパッカーが安心して宿泊できるゲストハウスを経営し、各国からの観光客が地元の文化に触れられるよう心を尽くしています。

またJeffは「夢を追う旅人が心から寛げる最高のゲストハウス」を目指し、各国から訪れるバッグパッカーにおしゃれでリーズナブル、安全で清潔、そして便利な宿泊スペースを提供しています。「旅悦」はJeffとMelody二人の夢であるばかりでなく、世界中の友人と夢を追い、夢を分かち合う場所なのです。

またJeffの三人の子供たちも旅悦にとってなくてはならない存在です。開業当初よりゲストハウスには三人の子供たちの姿があり、現在も可愛らしい子供たちがロビーで世界各国からの観光客を接待し交流を楽しんでいます。

Jeffはこう話しています。「旅悦は私の第二の人生の事業であるとともに、子供たちにとって貴重な経験の場でもあります。このような環境で成長する子供たちは自然に国際感覚を身に付け、世界中の人たちと友達になることができます。これは私の心からの願いでもあります。」

「旅悦」オープン

2014年7月、旅悦が正式に開業しました。

夢の宿泊スペースをつくるため、Jeff とMelodyはゲストハウスの場所に自宅を提供し、「シンプルでオシャレ」な内装を全て二人でデザインしました。広々としたリビング、各国からの観光客を迎える小さな国旗、ゲストルームに置かれた明るい色調のベッドは高雄の人気エリアという優れた立地に関わらず大型ベッドで、旅人に快適な睡眠空間を提供しています。また浴室には宿泊客も驚く高級タイルとシャワーが採用され、これら全てにJeff とMelodyから宿泊客に対する歓迎の気持ちが込められています。

「旅悦」の英語名－「D’well」には二つの意味があり、一つは英語で「居住、住所」という意味の「Dwell」で、まさに旅悦が夢を追う世界中の旅人の家になりたいという願いが表現されています。二つ目の意味は「Dream well」で、ここに泊まった観光客が勇気をもって夢を追いかけ、その夢が叶うようにとの願いが込められています。

さらに、「D’well」のCIS（コーポレートアイデンティティー）は朝陽科技大学視覚伝達設計学部との産学連携によるもので、企業発展に大きな影響を与えるCISの企画設計の実務に携わる機会が学生に提供され、また若い学生のアイディアによって「旅悦」の斬新なイメージが発信されています。

 「D’well 旅悦」はただのブランド名ではなく、私たちの経営理念と目標が表現されています。

뤼위에(중국어로 여행의 기쁨이라는 뜻), 「여행자들의 꿈을 설계하는 최고의 휴식 공간」이 되기 위해 최선을 다하고 있습니다.

‘뤼위에’의 이념

‘뤼위에’의 창업자 Jeff는, 대만과기대학교 경영 석사를 졸업하였고, 이전에 상장주식회사 기획부서에서 근무한 경험이 있으며, 여러 과학기술대학교의 전문 강사로 출강하기도 하였습니다. 2012년 중원 대학교 학생이 제작한 ‘해외 배낭객들은 왜 대만에 오지 않는가?’라는 주제의 영상을 보고, 여행에 대한 민간 차원 노력의 중요성을 깊이 깨닫고, 50세 되던 해 창업을 결심하게 되었습니다. 피아노 교사인 아내Melody와 함께 해외 배낭객들의 마음을 사로잡는 이 곳을 만들게 되었고, 세계로 ‘대만의 아름다움’을 전하는 유스호스텔로, 현지 문화를 전심으로 알리는 일에 전념하고 있습니다.

이밖에도, Jeff는 「여행자들의 꿈을 설계하는 최고의 휴식 공간」이라는 목표를 새롭게 정하고, 이 곳을 찾는 배낭객들에게 유행, 고급, 안전, 청결, 편리함의 숙박환경을 제공하고 있습니다. 그리하여, ‘뤼위에’는 Jeff와 Melody의 꿈 뿐아니라, 전세계의 친구들과 함께 꿈을 꾸고, 나누고 있습니다. 또한, Jeff의 세명의 자녀도 이 곳에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있습니다. 그들은 초창기때부터, 정식적인 근무 외에도, 여행객들의 사진 촬영 같은 작은 일을 돕기도 하였습니다. 각국에서 온 여행객들과 함께 찍은 사진들을 로비 곳곳에서 볼 수도 있습니다. Jeff는 말합니다. “ ‘뤼위에’는 자녀들의 직업 뿐아니라, 자녀들이 체험할 수 있는 생활의 중요한 부분이기도 합니다. 자녀들이 이 곳 특별한 성장환경에서 자연스럽게 국제적인 시각을 배우고, 전세계에서 온 친구들을 이해하기를 바라는 마음이 있습니다.”라고 말입니다. ‘뤼위에’의 탄생

2014년 7월, 뤼위에는 공식적으로 세상과 마주하게 됩니다.  꿈을 만드는 곳이 되기 위해, Jeff와 Melody는 의연히 본인들의 거처를 판 자본으로 바탕으로 ‘뤼위에’의 소재지를 준비하였습니다. 「단순함, 유행」의 기초를 강조하여, 내부 장식 모든 것을 Jeff와 Melody의 손으로 설계하였습니다. : 넓은 로비, 각국에서 온 손님을 맞이하는 작은 국기, 방 마다 활발한 느낌의 색을 갖춘 가구, 여행객들에게 숙면을 제공하는 까오숑에서 생산되는 큰 사이즈의 침대, 심지어 욕실 내부에 있는 고급 타일과 샤워기까지, 모든 것이 Jeff와Melody의 여행객들에 대한 정성의 표현입니다.

 ‘뤼위에’는 D’well이라는 영문이름을 가지고 있는데, 이것은 두가지의 의미를 지니고 있습니다. 첫째, Dwell은 영어로 거주하다, 살다의 의미를 지니고 있어서 뤼위에가 가진 여행객들의 꿈이 이루어지는 집이라는 이념과 일맥을 이루고 있습니다. 둘째, Dream well이라는 의미로, 이곳에 오는 모든 여행객들이 용감하게 꿈을 쫓아 이루기를 바라는 마음이 담겨 있습니다. 이밖에도, D’well의 기업식별설계(CIS) 를 조양과학기술대학교의 시각 디자인과와 함께 산학으로 합력하였습니다. 그 당시 기업발전CIS의 계획설계업무를 학생들이 참여하게 하여, 젊은이들이 마음껏 창의성을 발휘하여 지금의 참신한 생명력을 지닌 뤼위에가 탄생하게 되었습니다.

D’well은 뤼위에의 브랜드 네임일 뿐아니라, 이곳 경영이념과 목표이기도 합니다.
